We look into two scopes of strategizing microalgae-based application,
1. “Wrap-up” Production – Fuel and feedstock combined path
Fuel and feedstock combined path requires large area ponds, automated culture system and well-established cultivation technique. We develops a subcritical HTL process to efficiently extract the hydrocarbon-based oil and minimize the organic contamination to the residual which will be converted into animal & aquaculture feed. Coal-fired or natural gas power plant flue gas will be utilized as carbon source and water will be recycled back to the culture after flocculation.
2. Optimized production – High margin product path
High value product is recognized for several specific microalgae strains. We develop well-controlled cultivation scheme for those microalgae strains, to achieve a rapid accumulation of microalgae cells. After supercritical extraction process, high value product is further purified and modified into designated end product. Solid residual and water are recycled back to the culture system for nutrient sediment.
